Abuja Resident Laments Demolition of Properties

 From Mpape to Kuchinkoro, its demolitions galore in the Abuja. Residents in demolition marked zones now live fears of the imminent invasion of their communities by the ravaging bulldozers that usually leave nothing in but tears and sorrows in their tracks.
Some residents of Abuja metropolis who were affected in the recent demolition exercise have appealed to the President, Goodluck Jonathan  to restrain the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Mohammed Bala from further demolishing their properties, saying the action is illegal.
 Speaking to Newsmen in Abuja, the project manager of one of the properties demolished by the Department of Development Control in Dakwo District of the FCT, Mr. Geoffrey Onwubuya, said the FCT Minister is acting in violation to court injunction obtained on 23rd of January, 2013.
Reacting, the deputy director of the Department of Development Control, Mr. Hamza Tayyub dismissed the claim of the victims. He maintained that the owner of the estate encroached on five other plots of land in the area, in addition to building on an access road that connects other districts.
